"At the Risk of Oversimplification"

I know a lot of historians, philosophers and (other) social scientists criticize political scientists for frequently oversimplifying various elements of social phenomena and histories. I know that, and I know that this point actually is the most crucial criticism for many research papers. However, I still admire their passion. Passion for explaining the world in a graspable way.

This is what I always think when I read charts and tables that are created by political scientists in order to explain their theories.
