I have almost forgotten how hot Taiwan's September was. I am trying to get rid of the jet-lag by keeping myself awake by watching three movies today, but 沒想到 I have to deal with the heat, too. When I was waiting for my connection at Narita, I bought some Japanese books, two of which can be thought as very おたく. One is 秘録陸軍中野学校, and the other is 韓国の軍隊. Both are of course military-related. I did not know about the Nakano School until Michi told me last winter, and we actually tried to conduct some field research on it (by visiting the site in Tokyo), but the time ran out. I am not a so-called おたくof the Japanese military history, but I found that most of my potential opponents would be. It is always a good strategy to know the enemy. Well, other than that, the story is simply fascinating. I am looking forward to introducing some information from the book soon.
I am going back to ICLP next week after a loooong summer vacation (sorry for 上班族), so I am supposed to review Chinese now. I cannot switch my brain from English to Chinese smoothly, though. I need a transitional period, where I indulge myself in Japanese. (yes, this is a 藉口.)

Posted by: Ben at September 20, 2004 01:42 PMI am by no means an otaku (or otaku enough) of the Japanese military history. But I am willing to become one in a different field!
