I sometimes do a bit of research for my own interests during my working hours at the office. Recently I collected some articles on Shimo-ji Island and the new military base arrangement between Japan and the US, which I did not have a chance to write about here or at the EAIA blog yet.
I usually use Gmail to send files and stuff from my office. You know Gmail selects ads based on the words that appear frequetly in the message. Today I noticed that in many of my personal messages of this account, advertisements of the right column that Gmail selects for me are all like....this...:
Military Lawyers
Civilian lawyers who know how to aggressively deal with the military
www.militarylawyers.org
Civilian Military Jobs
Army National Guard. Find Training, Service, Salary & Education Info.
www.1800GoGuard.com
Military Defense Lawyers

I have to admit that this ad system works very well and actually catches my great attention.
